Main Layout:
The DEC Master program is intended to help in the preparation of Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods to be
shipped by air as well as in the process of keeping track of them. It is divided in two sections: the
Declarations section and the Templates
section. The two main tabs on the very top correspond to each one of these sections.
Declarations are actual printed documents that correspond to a particular
Declaration of Dangerous Goods. Templates, on the other hand,
are saved Declarations whose content can be used in order to prepare declarations
at any given time without having to re-type them.
When DEC Master is first loaded, the screen will look similar to the picture displayed above. The “Declarations”
section will be selected by default. The "Templates" section can always be selected by clicking on the tab.
The structure of the Declarations tab and the Templates tab are identical with the exception of the
“Make Declaration” button available on the Templates tab only,
which exports all the information available on a given template to the Declarations section in order
to prepare a new one. The Declaration tab has a “Make Template”
button if using a certain declaration as a template is desired.
Let’s consider the following template: (The Template tab is selected, and in the bottom right corner of the
screen, a button reads “Make Declaration”.
After pressing on the “Make Declaration” button (near the bottom right corner), a confirmation prompt
will show like above: (The Declarations tab will then be selected). The new declaration made from the
template will be automatically selected. The information from the template was transferred in order
to create a brand new declaration, as it can be seen in the example.
